MDS President Dr. Janis Moriarty appointed a Green Group Task Force (GGTF) in March 2020. This Task Force will discuss environmental issues and their impact on the practice of dentistry and should consider developing content for publication on all Society platforms to help enhance our members’ awareness of more eco-friendly practice methods. Points of interest will include:
- Expanding members' awareness of more eco-friendly practice methods
- Exploring sustainable alternatives to everyday practice products and procedures while maintaining a high level of patient safety and adherence to all regulations
- Researching opportunities to decrease the environmental impact of dental practices (including water and energy conservation, waste reduction, and paperless and other technology)
- Encouraging awareness and embracing of the basic reduce, reuse, recycle, and rethink philosophy among members both in practice and at home
- Communicating their recommendations across Society platforms
