Past recipients of the 10 Under Ten awards have made a significant contribution to the profession, their community, and/or organized dentistry. Recipients are selected by the MDS Membership Committee and nominations open each fall.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is composed of volunteer dentists. This committee is focused on recruitment and retention of members, monitoring membership trends; and developing programs and resources to help engage members in the Society.

Committee Areas of Focus
Each year, the Committee charge(s) is defined by the MDS President and Board of Trustees. The corresponding charges for the current governance year are:
- Develop a mentoring program for young dentists
- Promote personal connections to fuel engagements
- Target programming to members at each stage in their career
- Offer programs/education for targeted membership groups
The following are the Committee's broad areas of focus:
- Strengthen relationships with dental schools
- Develop strategy to focus on at-risk members
- Leverage Districts to address retention and recruitment (80% participation)
- Develop social engagement programs
