Dental Practice and Benefits Committee

The  Dental Practice and Benefits Committee is composed of volunteer dentists whose primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the formulation of educational and practice management tools and also the recommendation of policies related to the daily practice of dentistry.

Committee Areas of Focus

Each year, the Committee charge(s) is defined by the MDS President and Board of Trustees. The corresponding charges for the current governance year are: 

  • Develop ideas on how to increase dental visits
  • Target programming to members at each stage in their career
  • Expand CE offerings around practice and benefit issues
  • Improve the image of dentists and the MDS

The following are the Committee's broad areas of focus: 

  • Implement strategies that can directly impact a dental practice
  • Collaborate with outside experts to advance interprofessional relations and/or needs of the profession 
  • Address benefit and insurance issues that have a significant impact on the dental profession
  • Develop workforce models/analysis and implementation strategies
