Board of Trustees and Management Team

Society Governance

The MDS Board of Trustees is composed of the Officers (President, President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Speaker of the House, and Immediate Past President) and one Trustee from each of the 14 Massachusetts District Dental Societies. Staff is overseen by the Executive Director. The 2018 House of Delegates approved a restructuring of this governance formula, which begin in 2020 with a two-year phase in. Beginning July 1, 2020, the MDS Board of Trustees will be composed of the Officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Speaker of the House, and Immediate Past President) and 3 Regional Trustees, 7 District Trustees, and 1 At-Large Trustee. At the end of the two-year phase in, beginning July 1, 2021, the MDS Board of Trustees will be composed of the Officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Speaker of the House, and Immediate Past President) and 6 Regional Trustees, and 1 At-Large Trustee.
